Farm Credit Services of North Dakota is proud to announce that it has awarded the Northwest Landowners Association $50,000 as a recipient of the Rural Community Grant Fund (RCGF). The grant funds have allowed the Northwest Landowners Association to fill the much needed Executive Director position.
Troy Coons, of the Northwest Landowners Association, is pleased to accept the check and utilize the grant funds towards hiring an Executive Director. “The grant funds come at a critical time in our organization; a time of transition when we need an Executive Director to help grow our membership and take our organization to the next level to better serve our members,” says Coons.
“Farm Credit is pleased to provide grant funds to the Northwest Landowners Association,” says Claude Sem, CEO of Farm Credit Services of North Dakota. The organization is strong in its efforts to help landowners in local rural communities impacted by oil exploration and Farm Credit feels strongly that it’s important to give back to the local communities. “The responsibilities and pressures of landowners have significantly increased and we are excited to help support their needs,” Sem adds.
Farm Credit Services of North Dakota, Farm Credit Services of Mandan and AgriBank, established the Rural Community Grant Fund to assist in the implementation and development of projects and programs in communities and rural areas in western North Dakota which have been impacted by mineral exploration.
